Farm lesson 20: log house
The log house, 48 by 51 pixels: a shingle roof with a chimney, log walls, two windows with flower boxes, a door and a stone foundation. The biggest sprite of the farm.
This sprite is wide. It's easier to draw on a computer, or with your phone turned sideways.
Step 1

Done! This is the log house exactly as it is in the farm.
Step by step
Step 1: Lines

The whole house in lines: the roof, the chimney, the walls, the windows, the door and the foundation.
Step 2: Colors

The roof red, the wall brown, the glass, the stone grey.
Step 3: Shading

The shingle rows on the roof and the gaps between the logs.
Step 4: Light

The lit shingles and the lit top of every log, the corner posts catching the light.
Step 5: Outline colors

The outline in dark tones of each part.
Step 6: Details

The flowers in the boxes, the handle and the window panes.
Step 7: Finishing touches

The eave line along the bottom of the roof varied by hand: a line in one flat color does not happen in life, so its light changes along its length.
Step 8: Shadow

The shadow along the foot of the house.
The colors
23 colors, dark to light. Pick them with the eyedropper in the trainer, or type the codes into your editor.
